KEY STRENGTHS
Key hybrid with broad national placement! Excellent top-end yield potential with best in class test weight. Very good stalks and roots. Improved tolerance to anthracnose stalk rot.
WEAKNESSES
Tall, sturdy plants have some level of greensnap risk. Susceptible to physoderma.
POSITIONING
This hybrid has some flex to the ear and does respond well to intensive fertility and crop protection management. Will need a fungicide application or two to keep gray leaf spot away. Has a great plant structure that holds up well through the season. Prefers to stay on the good to great soils for full yield expression. Close relative to H6212 but may retain slightly more moisture at early harvest.
AGRONOMIC & DISEASE RATINGS

The higher the number, the better the performance or rating.

I am very happy with how this hybrid (H6214) performed.
I usually would split my farm half Hefty, half Pioneer. After I planted them side by side last year, I switched my whole farm to Hefty Brand Corn. I had to use an extra 3 silage bags that I wasn’t used to using before, just from having more tonnage. Hefty really does Yield!
